Petite chronique de Novembre
•
November is an often unloved month, associated with greyness and shortening days and a certain melancholy.
It is a month of transition, the last flare-ups of autumn, the last harvests in the fields before nature puts itself to rest for a few months.
This year, Cécile and I are offering you to see the month of November from its bright side with two seasonal recipes and two little crafts to do with the children.
Golden yellow recipes such as corn, which we don't know enough about in our kitchen and which is so delicious, a touching way of using the leaves of the cobs to make pretty naive dolls that will delight the children and decorate the kitchen and enjoy the magnificent colours of autumn and collect and dry pretty leaves to make mini works of art or small handmade gifts!

In November corn is in the spotlight as it is harvest time and Cécile shares here two delicious recipes based on organic sweet corn.

A new addition to your winter soup recipes, a little sweet and creamy as we like it.

chopped 1 tablet of organic chicken or vegetable stock

Heat 2 spoonfuls of olive oil in a casserole dish, add the chopped onion and melt gently.
Add the corn kernels, keeping some for decoration.
Add the 25 cl of milk and the 25 cl of cooking water as well as the bouillon tablet. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 10 minutes.
Blend the contents of the pot to obtain a delicious velouté; Perfect with toasted country bread

Mini corn leaf dolls
.
An ultra simple and fun way to use the leaves that surround and protect the cobs.
Once the corn cob has been removed, fold all the leaves backwards (opposite side to the one where the cob was). With kitchen twine, make a tie near the top of the head, keeping a slightly bulging part.
Hang the "hair" on it, which is usually on the cob. You can draw eyes and a mouth, but these mini dolls are also very pretty with their simple leaf petticoat that will dry nicely. A very satisfying little craft activity for your little ones. To hang in the kitchen as little plant angels.

Little gifts made of pressed autumn leaves
.
Autumn is literally blazing in early November and the colour palette of the fallen leaves is incredible.
Whether you're in the country or in the city, there are plenty to pick up. Getting your children interested in these little things that brighten up our daily lives is important and helps them to see the bright side of life! The idea is that everyone collects what touches him or her, whether in shape or colour, and returns with a pretty bouquet of leaves.
The next step is more delicate but very simple. Place the leaves on old newspapers, spreading them out well, cover them with another sheet of newspaper and place them under a pile of heavy books in a dry and warm place.
After two or three days the magic has happened, the leaves are dry and ready to be used.
Greeting cards, bookmarks, gift tags, small works of art to frame, everything is beautiful and will please. The result is really very, very satisfying with just a bit of classic school glue and some nice canson paper!
